How the first Kikariki blanket was born

How the first Kikariki blanket was born

I didn't realize how lucky I was with my first baby. He slept through the night at just ten weeks old and napped for hours during the day. With all that extra time on my hands, I made baby swaddles for Gabriel and two of his baby friends from Centering—Josie and Conrad. I designed these swaddles to be longer and wider than the hospital blankets our babies came home with—because let's be honest, they grow so fast! I added some jersey at the top for extra restraint, as Gabriel was a Houdini escape artist and would wiggle out of every other swaddle.

Six years later and our big kids now with missing teeth and big words are still using these swaddles as kindergarten or travel blankets. A product that truly grew with our kids!
